HR 514 — The Patriot Act Extension did not get the necessary 2/3 majority needed to pass today. 277 Against 148 For. The 3 controversial provisions set to expire were NOT EXTENDED.

The bill would have extended the most controversial provisions.
Republicans will probably bring the bill back to the floor for another vote, probably in the next few days with only a simple majority required.
